2012 Museum Ships Weekend

June 1st & 2nd

For many years Amateur radio has been celebrating the brave men who served aboard the many retired US Navy vessels around the country by setting up and operating radios from these historic ships. The Portsmouth Amateur Radio club has long been associated with the USS Albacore, and for many years we have operated from the USS Albacore during Museum ships weekend. Come down and visit the USS Albacore and get a glimpse of what life was like on a submarine deep out at sea, and at the same time learn a little bit about the use of radio on the USS Albacore. The public is welcome to come down and get a chance to operate on the radio and potentially talk to another US Navy vessel elsewhere in the US.

Museum Ships Weekend for 2012 is a 24 hour event from June 1st at 8pm EST until June 2nd at 8pm EST.
