Albacore Park Opens for the Season!

PORTSMOUTH, NH. – Portsmouth Submarine Memorial Association (PSMA) and Albacore Park Museum, 569 Submarine Way, a National Historic Landmark Site in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is pleased to announce its 2024 Tour and Event Season to begin Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Albacore Park – Home of the USS Albacore Submarine – will be open for tours Monday through Sunday from 9:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Visit one of Portsmouth’s most unique sites while you climb in the bunks, sit in the Commander’s seat, look through the periscope and so much more! Throughout the season, Albacore Park will have regular Crew stories, author chats and readings for families, and hands-on and engaging activities and demonstrations. “We have many new and exciting events planned this year as well as a big announcement to be made soon on our new museum expansion project,” said Executive Director Patricia Violette, “We’ve been working on a Virtual Reality program in partnership with the University of New Hampshire and there will be regular demonstrations to see the USS ALBACORE (AGSS-569) submarine in ways you never thought possible! Stop by to visit us!”

Regular admission for tours is $11 per adult and $5 per students and children under 14 years of age. Group rates are also available for groups of 10 or more. Their Visitor Center, which houses a Museum Gift Shop (where you can pick up a memento of your visit to Albacore), will also focus on your entire Portsmouth adventure with brochures, rack cards and maps to guide you along your way.

Albacore Park, the formal site for the USS ALBACORE (AGSS 569) Submarine and museum, Memorial Garden and home of the Portsmouth Submarine Memorial Association, provides a sprawling park for everyone’s enjoyment.
