No. The tour is self-guided with audio boxes and informative signs. Look for red buttons outside and inside the submarine and press them to hear about what compartment you are in and stories from former crew members in their voices. This is an extremely unique opportunity to learn directly from those who served on the Albacore.
The tour length varies per group and depending on how many of the audios are listened to. The full submarine tour can last 45 minutes, and a short tour can last 20 minutes. Visitors explore at their own pace.

The museum galleries, ship’s store, and memorial garden are all handicapped accessible. The submarine is not handicapped accessible and requires visitors to travel through several small hatchways, lifting their legs 18 inches while ducking their heads. We do not allow wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, or crutches, on the submarine. This is for the safety of everyone.
We do allow service animals on the submarine but warn of the limited space. We trust handlers to know the limits of their service animals as well as themselves. Please do not put yourself or your service animal in a situation that would make either of you uncomfortable or unsafe.
Please note that misrepresenting a pet as a service animal is a violation of NH State law.
Yes. We cannot allow anyone under the age of 2 years old onto the submarine. We must also ensure that your child can walk well on their own. We do not allow children to be held, carried, or worn on the submarine. This is for the safety of you and your child.

Although no food or beverages are allowed in the museum or submarine, visitors are welcome to bring their own food and eat at our 4 picnic tables outside.
